With mental illness on the rise across the globe, our program on emotional wellness provides the foundation for strengthening mental health. Learning how to manage our emotions are pivotal to changing our lives, our communities, and our world!
FOUNDER & VISIONARY
Dr. Kim R. Grimes
Dr. Kim R. Grimes brings over two decades of transformative leadership and youth advocacy to LAYV. Her journey began with a simple but profound vision: that every young person, regardless of their background, possesses an innate seed of greatness waiting to be nurtured.
Her philosophy is grounded in what she calls the ‘Soil, Water, and Light’ approach. “Just as a seed needs fertile soil, consistent watering, and radiant light to grow into a strong tree,” Dr. Grimes explains, “our youth need a supportive community, practical life skills, and the guiding light of faith to reach their full potential.”
Under her visionary leadership, LAYV has grown from a small community initiative into a comprehensive ecosystem of personal and spiritual development, impacting thousands of lives and forging tomorrow’s resilient leaders.

I am forgiven forever! Transcendent forgiveness, it transcends all things, past, presence, future. The chains are broken forever. I am spiritually scotch guarded.

Faith keeps me mindful of God’s heart and presence, knowing that God has my back.

God is actively involved with me; nothing comes to me without having passed through God’s heart God will never leave me nor forsake me.
Freedom
Being free to BE who God created me to BE. Therefore, there is no condemnation in Christ Jesus. Because of the completed work on the cross, sin has no power or dominion over me.
